Wudhu-friendly means that first the makeup is made with permissible ingredients, and at the same time the water can reach your skin during wudhu because the makeup is not creating a waterproof barrier that blocks it.
It is the intentional combination of silicones, waxes, and oils in a formula that makes conventional makeup waterproof, not one single ingredient.
And so, we avoid that combination in our formulas, so water can pass through when it reaches your skin.

The proof is visible: our makeup fades or shifts slightly when water reaches it during wudhu and this is intentional, because we want you to have complete peace of mind, so you can visually see (and feel) that our products are not creating an impermeable layer.

Yes, all our products are alcohol-free. If you spot "cetyl alcohol" or "cetearyl alcohol" on an ingredient list, those are fatty alcohols derived from coconut or vegetable oils, used as skin-conditioning agents. They have no relation to the alcohol that intoxicates, and they don't compromise the alcohol-free claim.

Silica and silicone are different ingredients despite the similar name. One is natural (silica) and the other one is synthetic (silicone). Silica doesn't compromise wudhu-friendliness the way silicones do.

Beeswax used at 100% concentration is waterproofing (think shoe polish, waxed fabric). In our formulas, it's combined with emulsifiers that break that waterproofing bond, so water can still reach your skin.

Not entirely. The only animal-derived ingredients we use are honey, lanolin, and beeswax. None of these involve harm to the animal: lanolin comes from sheep's wool, and honey and beeswax are bee products taken without harming the hive. Bees and sheep both hold a meaningful place in the Sunnah, which is part of why we're comfortable including them.
